Identical twin brothers Deon “Trip Loc” and Dewayne “Wayniac” Williams grew up in Long Beach and linked with childhood friend Warren G, who produced their entire 1995 debut Conversation for his G-Funk Entertainment imprint through a Def Jam distribution deal. The album cracked the Billboard 200 on the strength of lead single “Round & Round” (with Nanci Fletcher on the hook) and the Warren G-and-Tracey-Nelson-featured follow-up “Eastside LB.” Tha Twinz's run was short, but the sound is unmistakably Long Beach G-funk.
