Claudia Madriz started chasing rap seriously at 19 out of San Jose, breaking through independently with 2011's Unorthodox before landing an Atlantic Records deal in 2012 — then going fully independent again in 2018 on her own terms. Known for a rapid-fire delivery that switches fluently between English and Spanish, she won an MTV VMA for "Immigrants (We Get the Job Done)" and picked up a Latin Grammy nomination for a Bizarrap session. Also an outspoken advocate for immigrant rights, on record and off.
