Dedrick Rolison grew up in Inglewood and took his name from the Ingram MAC-10, first appearing on Ice Cube's Bootlegs & B-Sides before his self-titled 1995 debut went gold on Priority Records. He became a third of Westside Connection alongside Ice Cube and WC, whose 1996 debut Bow Down made them one of the era's defining West Coast supergroups. Nearly 11 million records sold between his solo work and group projects, and he built his own label, Hoo-Bangin' Records, along the way.
