Ricardo Brown was born in Philadelphia and raised in Hawthorne, California, breaking through Death Row Records after meeting Snoop Dogg at a rap showcase in the early '90s. He co-founded Tha Dogg Pound with Daz Dillinger in 1992, and his 1998 solo debut Kuruption! hit No. 8 on the Billboard 200. Widely regarded as one of the most technically skilled rappers to come out of the West Coast — Kendrick Lamar has named him as one of his three biggest influences, alongside 2Pac and Ice Cube.
