Lawrence Muggerud cut his teeth DJing for the group 7A3 before co-founding Cypress Hill with B-Real and Sen Dog, producing all seven of the group's studio albums between 1991 and 2004 and picking up three Grammy nominations along the way, including for "Insane in the Brain." In 1997 he launched Soul Assassins as his own collective and imprint, pulling in Wu-Tang members, Dr. Dre and a rotating cast of collaborators for one of the murkiest, most influential production catalogs to come out of the West Coast.
