J-Ro, Tash and producer E-Swift came together in LA in the early '90s as the core of the broader Likwit Crew, the same circle that gave the world Xzibit. Never a crossover commercial act, but their run from 21 & Over (1993) through Firewater (2006) built one of the most dedicated cult followings in West Coast hip-hop — loud, funny, funk-loose party rap with a genuinely hardcore edge underneath it. Still active, with a new album in the works.
